How much will Steel City Strings cost?
Steel City Strings treat each booking on an individual basis, and are committed to providing high quality bespoke entertainment which is flexible and caters for personal taste. Fees depend on the total length of the engagement, which may be anything from an hour, to three or four hours. For engagements longer than this, a different rate of pay would be used.
A non-refundable deposit of 20% of the fee plus a signed Agreement are required in order to confirm the booking. The balance is then due on the day of the booking and can be paid either in cash, or by cheque, guaranteed with a cheque card, made payable to 'Steel City Strings'.
How far will Steel City Strings travel?
Anywhere within reason, however a small travel expenses supplement for engagements more than 15 miles outside of the Sheffield area will apply.
How far in advance must I book?
We ask that you give at least four weeks notice for quartet bookings, and longer if there are specific needs that you wish us to cater for.
Must I provide anything?
Apart from four armless chairs for us to sit on, you don't need to provide anything. Steel City Strings provide all music stands, and as we are acoustic, require no amplification or electricity - this also means we can play outdoors, but in the event of wet weather, we would have to be put inside.
How loud are Steel City Strings?
We aim to enhance the atmosphere of any event by creating an elegant setting with music of the highest calibre, and at the same time providing a conversation piece without being intrusive
Can I ask for particular songs?
We have a full repertoire list on our Music page. Performance playlist will come from this, but if you have a special song in mind, then do enquire if we could arrange it for string quartet. If the piece is suitable, an additional arranger's fee would be added, and extra time required to produce the music.
